Christina Mendez, the beautiful and curvy top plus size model, is set to walk in the Adrian Alicea Haute Couture Fashion Show during the Fall / Winter 2014 season of New York Fashion Week, February 12th, 2013 at Landmark on the Park. In a press release Christina was quoted as saying “ I am truly honored Adrian Alicea selected me to represent “Couture Curves”. With Adrian integrating a plus model alongside straight-sized models, he’s showcasing the beauty of fashion for everyone during New York Fashion Week….where opportunities for plus models to walk the runway are slim-to-none in the fashion capital of the world even with targeted fashion weeks.”
In PlusModelsToday.com’s opinion, this is exactly the how fashion and modeling should be – inclusive rather than divisive. It’s not that hard.

Beautiful plus size fashion model Kaela Humphries is the new face of Evans. The 29 year old Ford model is 5’11″ and a size 16 US. Many people know her as the older sister of NBA star Kris Humphries who was briefly married to Kim Kardashian.

The British Plus Size Fashion Weekend is slated to run February 15-16, 2013, while London Fashion Week is scheduled for February 15-19, 2013.

Curvy Girls is a reality TV show about four plus size models as they encounter various obstacles and challenges while striving to make it as models in a very competitive yet rewarding industry. The show features Ivory May Kalber, Lornalitz Baez, Denise Bidot and Rosie Mercado. The world premier is Tuesday 9/18/2012 at 9pm eastern time on NuvoTV.

Mike Yard, widower of Mia Amber Davis, is suing her gynecologist and family practitioner over her May 9, 2011 death following knee surgery just one day prior.
According to TMZ, Yard alleged that Davis was too obese to be on the birth control pills prescribed by her gynecologist, according to court documents. Last July, the L.A. County Coroner’s office listed “pulmonary thrombo-embolism” as Mia Amber Davis’ cause of death.
Mike Yard is seeking unspecified damages from the doctors named in the lawsuit.
Mia Amber Davis was a well liked and successful plus size model and starred in the comedic film “Road Trip”. Mia was also a favorite of visitors to this site, both before and following her untimely death.

Anansa Sims and husband David Patterson are expecting a second child. In an exclusive interview, PEOPLE magazine reports that she and her husband are “very, very excited” about it. The couple have a 9-month daughter Ava.
Anansa, a plus size model and family, share her supermodel mom, Beverly Johnson’s house in the reality show Beverly’s Full House. The show airs Saturdays at 10pm/9 central on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).
